What should I do career wise?

NOTE: I am asking this question again because I got some trolls on the last post, and I really could use some advice.

So, I quit my job because it has just been way too stressful. Problem is, I am almost 20 with little work experience, no specific major, and all my interests are way hard to find a career in. (Theatre.) My family is very supportive and wants me to follow my dreams, but my friends think I should focus on getting work experience and picking a major just to be sure I'll have a future. I know I'll need a set career eventually, but I really do not want to be stuck with a career that I hate. The only thing I am one-hundred percent sure of at the moment is that I need a break over the holidays to sort some things out. But, I need some serious advice: What should I do?

Can you afford to pursue a career in your line of interest? If you could then why not?

I pursued a career that I had no interest in, but I'm competent at it and it pays well. It was the practical choice for me, because my family needs the money. Is it difficult sometimes to get out of bed to go to work? So much. I envy those who genuinely enjoy what they do - they say it doesn't feel like work:

But what I wanted to do was a difficult thing to pursue as a career (I would've loved to write) and I could not afford it at the time. So I just write as a hobby... I blog. I post on here.

This is a decision you need to make on your own, because you need to decide what your priorities are. And then you just make it work.
@SW-User Yeah, that's the thing for me. I want to have financial security, and I do not want to spend my life wondering "What if," But at the same time, I don't want to miss out on "following my dream" either, you know?

@marilynmichelle I think you're young enough to try first before going the practical route... what ifs are torture.

Who knows you might actually succeed? Don't give up before you try.
