You get a job with another company or another division of your current company. One of your direct reports to be who you don't know sends you a LinkedIn message (or email if you're taking internal transfer) to introduce himself before you start.

A little too aggressive and a little too assholey. You're not "all that", and I'll meet you when the new job starts.Don't piss me off before I even start on the first project!

I never read anything that comes from or through linkedin. He or she would be out of luck.
@hippyjoe1955 What if it's internal transfer and he or she sends an email?
