Just got some shady insider info about my company and the tariffs...

It's a shoe company. The prices have raised $15-30 a pair. One of the big managers and I have become buddies, he's a cool guy, not like most bosses. He called to tell me that his higher up told him to tell employees and customers that rising costs are due to new technology, but admitted it's due to tariffs 😂

I'll admit, while I love seeing a corporation shaking in its boots a little, they're still freaking lying to people. It's political. It's a game.

And I'm supposed to lie to people and get bitched at? 😂

You get paid more to keep secrets. My boss is very anti trump though and he is running his mouth 😂 I love it. I thought I'd run my mouth too. We forget we are owned.

Why is he lying about it? Blaming it on tariffs takes the blame off your company.

@JimboSaturn I think because it'll piss of the people who are against tariffs. They don't want to lose any business. They need people to keep buying their shoes. They have major celebrity sponsors who would rather avoid associations also. It's big business. They're going to do whatever they have to to not lose too many sales. As it's a pretty big increase in price, they're going to lose sales anyway.
