Some of the best advice I ever got is from my former boss ... he said a person should always try to look/act smart

Actually, I kinda think sometimes it’s smart not to look so smart. For one thing if you look too smart you risk making others around you feel inferior, and for another people set lower expectations for you that are easier to clear if they don’t think you’re smart.
