Just why are there people like this?

So, somehow, I made the Production Supervisor dislike me.

Normally, I wouldn't care, but I have to ask him to do things for me as part of my job.

Today, I sent him an email saying I needed everyone but the three people on the below list to come into the office to take a safety quiz.

He emails back saying two of the three said they already took it.

🤦‍♀

So I replied back that they did. I need everyone else who hasn't.

He sends back an email listing all the 10 people and asking if they need to take the test.

😐

I reply back, "Yes please! 😊" even though I was now annoyed.

Like, wtf dude? Did you seriously need me to list 10 people and take the more time consuming route instead of cutting to the chase? And did you seriously need to somehow "show me how it's to be done" to feel better about yourself? You aren't my fucking boss. Don't try to train me to deal with your stupid redundancy.

So I sent the chain to my boss and asked what I can do to deal with this. She is friends with this guy and so I figure she has some advice. If nothing else, she gets to see the absolute ridiculousness this asshole is pulling. I did say this whole email chain should have been, at most, a 3 email chain, so I'm taking this as his way to be childish. (I didn't say that exactly, but it is lightly implied.)

Why are men like this?! Why am I expected to cater and kowtow to his bullshit?

We all got jobs to do, buddy. You aren't special.

@ThirstenHowl He's trying to get me to adhere to how he wants me to work for him in a passive agressive fashion and frankly, that makes me lose all sense of respect for him. All he had to do was say, "This works better for me to tell me who needs to do this." instead of this stupidity he did. I'm not unreasonable, but I don't appreciate manipulation when it isn't required. (Or even when it is, for that matter.)
