I work for a medical supply company making about 19.5/hr. The good news is that I get paid leave and I'm basically my own boss, but my position is only part-time and I don't get benefits even though my offer letter stated otherwise. With heath care costs going back up I'm not really sure what I would do without the job even though they don't provide heath care.

Part time job without benefits is not sustainable these days. If you don't have insurance on your own, you're taking a huge financial risk, unfortunately.
Besides health insurance, there are retirement benefits to consider, vision, dental, among other benefits. Can you job hunt while still working at this job so you can pay your bills?
