I work for a medical supply company making about 19.5/hr. The good news is that I get paid leave and I'm basically my own boss, but my position is only part-time and I don't get benefits even though my offer letter stated otherwise. With heath care costs going back up I'm not really sure what I would do without the job even though they don't provide heath care.

Define irony, working for a healthcare supply company that does not supply supplementary health insurance.

Dude, you have an offer letter that promised something, seek legal advice.
@NativePortlander1970 from what I can tell, that was only for full time positions which equates it to a form letter at best.
@GohantheThird I am a former food service and retail manager, you were given a letter of position that indicated full time with benefits, I think legally you were offered full time with benefits and should be given it.Go see a lawyer, or at least go to your area Legal Aid office where you live.
@NativePortlander1970 My mom's a paralegal, trust me I'm getting more advice than I care for. Verbally, I was promised a part time position and that works for me just fine, and I'm getting paid enough that I can afford my own plan. Besides, someone quits every quarter here so I doubt it's going to matter in the long run.
@GohantheThird Then you misrepresented yourself in your post.
