There’s an award called “Profit Protection Champion,” and the same person has already won it twice. That bothers me, because I strongly believe that once someone has received recognition in a particular category, they shouldn’t be awarded it again—it’s simply unfair.

It's a championship not some recognition award to be not given twice. It's like saying a player cannot win Wimbledon successively. So rather than saying it is unfair, find out why he got the award and what he did differently that other's didn't and who were the close competitors etc.

Is it just thefts for which award is given? or is there other criteria like Loss Prevention where something is sold for less than price OR did he come up with a clearance of certain items before it expires.

Find out if its just nepotism or favouritism. Gather all staff and demand an explanation.

@in10RjFox I know what it is, and I've looked into it, it's actually still regarded as recognition either way, as a thank you for your hard work, so yes, I can say it's unfair- all companies are different, where you work by the sounds of it, Championship might not mean recognition at all- not so sure.
I did a survey with one of the managers and they themselves admitted that the recognitions need to be worked on.. I've looked over what was done and find that it's no different to what I'm doing- as said before, time of day makes it a little harder, which is why leveling the playing field makes more sense.
The description is no different than one that was given to me ages ago which proves that I wasn't unable to do my job. This Profit Protection was about stopping theft.
We have talked amongst ourselves about one of the managers and one of us actually lost the plot and had a go at them before I could say anything. Definitely no nepotism, more favoritism
@Tananzia In that case, what you need to do is bring about a shout-out system whenever anyone stops a theft and it gets recorded on a whiteboard, which gets photographed and shared on a whatsapp group .. And no more silent recording of incidences. That way all would know who the champion would be.

I can understand your frustration.
Managers tend to pigeonhole their employees.
And the idea that they don't have their 'favourites' is often untrue.

Might be time to start looking elsewhere.

@jshm2 Yeah? Well I've been loyal for 7 years.

@jshm2 no I do get it, and I know there are people who have worked longer, that’s my point.
Also 7 years in this particular company is an eyebrow raiser, but I have certain plans a head of me where there’s no point moving as it’ll disrupt everything.
That’s unfortunate for people in the US.
