UK the 12 week sick law

By law in the UK Employees are allowed 12 weeks of sick pay with full Salary covered plus their usual 28 days hols still intact.

Now at my workplace 3 employees take full advantage and use it WHEN THEY'RE NOT SICK!!! Sick covers; Unwell, sprained body part, accident at work or ANYWHERE else etc. My coworkers use it and go Poland, to their hometown.

So what ? Do you think people want to spend their lives working? Your boss gets to go on vacations, play golf, leave the office at will... so what?

@Jokersswild It needs to be a 2 way lane. Whaeva employees get employer needs to do the same. Also boss can be outta office dealing with clients in meetings or pay visit to their own client workplace?

If I was a boss of a production comp and my employees call sick only to not be sick I'd need to re-adjust schedule of moving employees one production to another or let the machine stand until the sick leaver returns if order isn't urgent. No problem! So? Do that? But what about missed orders and penalty on late deliveries?? What about time spent on the re- schedule?
