Lack of Workplace Logic

I was reassigned from my last project 2 years ago. One of the executives from that project [not with my company] went to the VP of my company asking for my help with past due reporting for the project I no longer work on. The VP told him to reach out to me directly. Does that mean i get the option to say 'No'?

I don't understand why someone who is still working on the project can't do the reporting. I guess that would make too much sense.🙄 I have moved on to other responsibilities. What would you do?

Depends on the project. Maybe he was getting some old information about the project. Maybe he thought something was not right about it and wanted some one outside to answer some question. The executives where not getting a good answer from the employees.
Find out why they need your help. It may give you and your company some leverage to be used later.
@Matureman6969 My first guess is weaponized incompetence -- they don't know how to fill out a few forms.

@Matureman6969 Thinking that as well

Ask them. It's not that complicated.
