Worked in a library for an extremely racist woman. She truly thought she was complimenting me when she once told me I was the “hardest working nigra she’d ever met, not lazy like most of ‘em.” I worked for her after classes for as long as I could stand it, until I found another job. 🙄

@bijouxbroussard brave of you, an awful experience
@Strictmichael75 The sad thing is, I love books, so it would’ve been a great job, had she not been part of the package.

@bijouxbroussard indeed
I can totally understand you

@bijouxbroussard omg, I would have left immediately
@SW-User I needed the money, but I eventually did. I was at college, almost 4000 miles away from home, and I hadn’t yet been warned not to look for work in that part of town. I was young, made a good impression apparently, figured I couldn’t go wrong in a library…and there I was. I learned.

@bijouxbroussard I'm so sad you had this experience😢😩

I can understand with you needing the money etc.

Also that person was just ignorant, sort of funny she was working in a library (aren't librarians usually smart people)..
I usually find racist people are the stupidest, just my observation
@SW-User That’s been my experience as well, for the most part.
