Today a colleague was rude to me for no reason and called me some unpleasant stuff

Should I inform my superior or would that just make me a cry baby? It wasn't exactly a slur or a cuss word but it was a derogatory phrase.

Maybe talk to your coworker directly about how it made you feel? If you let it pass completely, they won't know they did anything wrong, but getting your boss involved is a bit overkill for a first time incident.
