Today a colleague was rude to me for no reason and called me some unpleasant stuff

Should I inform my superior or would that just make me a cry baby? It wasn't exactly a slur or a cuss word but it was a derogatory phrase.

Definitely discuss it with peers. Maybe he was having a bad day, but that doesn’t mean he can be rude to you. Call him out on that language next time, and make sure you’re not alone when you do.
