Would you continue to protect them?

Let's say you are part the very few people in your village who can kill demons. Despite this, you are still poor ( because the wages are little to nothing) and you are only given enough food to survive. People say you're important but at the same time wrothless and disposable.

One day you meet another tribe of people. They love demon slayers and treat them extremely well. A part of you wants to leave your village to be with them but if you do your village will be put in danger. - what would you do?
