I'm going for a coffee on Tuesday with my freind but I'm suddenly worried about the venues dress policy.... about

My freind and I found a delightful independent coffee place last week and have decided to make it our new regular place at least for a little while until the cold makes it too difficult because of her arthritis.

Anyway I was looking forward to it and then she phoned me up to tell me that our other freind was in there the other day and she said they were men in hi vis vests. I immediately phoned this freind up to aquire more details.

She informed me that they were indeed men in high visibility vests and while she says they were actually well behaved and one of them even stood to allow her to pass (he didn't take his hat off though).

There is a big construction site nearby and so I am now slightly concerned that there will be men in high visibility vests there when my friend and I have our weekly coffee.

Because of snow flake culture I bet there are laws that prohibite the banning of wearing of high visibility vests so if the manager puts up a sign saying 'No High Visibility vests' up, then there is a chance there could be legal difficulties.

I'm thinking of phoning up the manager and politely suggesting that she increases the prices until the nearby construction project is completed. I'm sure she is anxious about the construction workers coming into her coffee shop situation and is eager to seek an elegant solution.

However, like I said, I'm not a regular at this place yet so im worried that if I phone the manager offering this possible solution, I might seem a bit pushy. Should I perhaps leave an anonymous note instead?

Well behaved men in high visibility vests? Oh MY...the horror!!!

Since you asked, perhaps you should just stay in your home at all times. One just never knows when they might see a garish tattoo, violent tasteless silly hair colours or even worse....a man knitting. You may want to avoid looking out the window, too, just in case.

@Carmen74 Haha..yeah, she does come to mind. 🙂
You should leave this alone. Most businesses appreciate the money that comes from construction workers.

I think you are a troll anyway.

@mondayschild2 Hear hear
As ever, you fly your fool colors.
Oh, wait..."colours".

If the manager wants to run a successful business, she welcpmes the additional increase in foot traffic and sales from the construction workers, who also would like to partake of the very British pastime of "tea".

I guess living in an overly class-conscious era has kept you feeling perturbed that the rest of humanity (i.e., the vast mass of those whom you consider to be your inferiors) would, often, enjoy many of the things which *you* enjoy...including a tea.

Instead of seeing how the English discovery of tea, and turning it into a national institution, has provided yet another way to bind together ALL the English/British, and even has helped to create a worldwide group of lovers of tea...no, you see it as an intrusion.

It must be hard, being the last Edwardian...Victorian?

How is this an issue exactly?
