Why are the ppl I work with such a giant pain?

They are so negative! All they ever want to spend time discussing is how unhappy they are or how much they don’t like this person or the way that person does a particular thing. They have no idea of how to just leave things be. I’m constantly having to ask them, “ok, but how does that really affect you?”. It’s gotten to the point that they ignore me bc they’d rather keep their pity party than realize that none of the things they panic about actually matter.

I don't know why, but I it was the same years ago when I worked in an office. All my coworkers did was complain about how they hated the job, the company and the boss, plus gossip, gossip, and more gossip. It got so I could hardly stand going to lunch or breaks with them. I carpooled on most days, and on the day it was my turn to drive, I sometimes ate lunch in the car.

@SW-User I don’t blame you. I’d do the same thing. It’s utterly exhausting having to hear everyone’s complaints all day long. It drains me and my poor family can tell bc by the time I get home I’m over any kind of human interaction for the rest of the day lol.

@DecafD That's exactly what happened to me. I was so burnt out that I had no life outside of work. My ex and my family started asking me to please take a sabbatical or change jobs at least.
