Why'd it take me so long to use tampons?

So I really didn't have to go through all that trauma of sitting in my own pool of blood?

Believe it or not, an older friend who grew up in the small town of a red state told me when she was young, some pharmacists wouldn’t sell tampons to unmarried girls. One of the craziest things I’d ever heard at the time.
