Why do we even need periods?

Every month a week before it starts I get really crazy and angry for no reason at the smallest things and I fight with people over stupid things that I wouldn't care about usually, yesterday I had a huge fight with my three year old because he just had a massive diarrhea didn't flush didn't wipe and went and sat on the carpet with his dirty self and I had to wash the whole thing 😭 I started shouting about it because I told him while he is in the bathroom not to do that but he didn't care, of course am not crazy or overwhelmed like Lindsay Clancy since I only have the one child 😂 I remember years ago I used to fight with my parents then my friends now my own family, the doctor even recommended I take hormones to stop it I told them I don't take medication or chemicals unless it's paracetamol for my headache,,,after that week ends I suddenly go back to my nice stoic self where I don't care about anything. Honestly why do we even need periods? They have no place in modern society.

I fully agree. But there's a price to pay. 😒 I was thinking of getting off BCP but then I remembered my natural cycle can be 25 days and was like...f**k that, nope. Not to mention acne from hell that would mean a complete ban on sweets and maybe not even that would help. Sometimes I have to run my hand across my smooth skin to remind myself why it would be a bad idea.

That sounds exhausting, especially when you can see the pattern so clearly but still feel completely unlike yourself for that week. The fact that it happens consistently before your period might be worth mentioning to your doctor again—not because you’re ‘crazy’ or a bad mum, but because severe premenstrual mood changes can be very real and there may be options besides just ‘put up with it.’ And honestly, the three-year-old bathroom incident would test anyone’s patience 😅 Be kind to yourself today.
