Trying to decide…

Long term…waxing or laser? Which is more effective? Laser is more expensive up front but waxing is expensive over time? Haha idkkkk
I have pcos and over the years since my mid 20s I started getting facial hair at first it was easy to control I just went to have it waxed once a month. When I hit my mid 30s it got harder and I was about to go for laser treatment when lockdown struck. Now I’m in my late 30s and I get waxed every 4 weeks and I have to pluck them out in between as well. It’s no laughing matter. I wish I’d gone for laser years ago. I hope to have laser treatment this year.

My girl swears by laser for complete removal.

elecrolisis hurts a lot ...just let your partner shave you smooth
It seems like wax would let you change your mind if you wanted better than laser

@stound hmm I’m wondering if laser would be commitment to likeeee a certain amount of sessions to see progress?
@SmileSunshine not sure. id have to research, always seemed too expensive
SmileSunshine · 31-35, F
@stound haha same.

Ask your partner. They should be delighted to help you stay trim and clean.

I want to try laser, at least for my arm pits.
Problem is, I'd have to find someone who truly knows what they are doing, otherwise my skin could get burned 😬

@iamnikki yah I totally understand I’m in the same thoughts…I want to go to someone who has great reviews and someone I can build a relationship and trust.

Waxing is also just unpleasant
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@SmileSunshine I haven’t been the best about keeping up with it like I should but it’s pretty easy to use and doesn’t hurt
Just gets a little hot and makes a flash you shouldn’t look directly at
SmileSunshine · 31-35, F
@JRVanguard hmm definitely something to look into. Do you prep the skin in any way or have to do any after care?
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@SmileSunshine Mine doesn’t require any real prep
I typically do it after a shower after I’ve had time to dry off
After care is not required that I’ve needed
I do have a lotion I keep on hand cause I also experiment with hair removal cream and it’s definitely required for that
I want to try laser at home to see if it might thin out some of my unwanted hair.

@HootyTheNightOwl ooooh let me know how that works out. I’m nervous to see if I have sensitive skin.
@SmileSunshine It won't... I never get any money to save up for anything like that.
SmileSunshine · 31-35, F
@HootyTheNightOwl oh I see.

Laser is for ever and you need to find a qualified specialist ....
SmileSunshine · 31-35, F
@masterofyou hmm both laser and waxing would be forever then?
masterofyou · 70-79, M
@SmileSunshine I believe waxing is temporarily but never had it done so i could be wrong as hair wi grow back after being pulled out ....
