The phenomenon of mass shooters will in all likelyhood sadly probably increase.
There have been several studies and metanalyses to find the common motives, common mental states, and common inspirations that school shooters tend to have in common. The thing is, virtually all factors that seem to combine to produce the mindset of someone who says "fuck it, everyone will die" are ones that society has only been exacerbating in the last few decades, and is projected to continue to exacerbate.
Note: A lot of studies online can be a bit misleading. The most famouse study published on school shooters was released by the secret service, and looked up 37 school shootings.
1)Feelings of isolation: This is a thoroughly common factor. What's scary to think about is how with the rise of the internet replacing real world connections, machines taking away incentive to work together, declining western birthrates leading to less young people per capita for other youth to socialize with (the older generation outnumbers the younger which is the literal opposite of nature), isolation will only get worse unless these trends change.
2)Holding extreme ideologies: The one's most DIRECTLY respnsible for mass shootings would be radical accelerationism, Inceldom, radical islamism, and white supremacy, with transgenders being over-represented as mass shooters, but with no clear indication they did this BECAUSE of gender ideology (most likely because young people are disporportionately trans, and the youth is obviously going to be the ones doing the shootings).
What's interesting about this, is that even individuals who didn't themselves commit the acts because of a radical ideology, often seem to still hold such ideologies at the end of the day. Samantha rupnow (the columbine fangirl) herself didn't do the shooting for the cause of white supremacy, but clearly expressed racism.
With all that said, think about how, due to the internet, any retard with an opinion can spread their bullshit. The online right and the online left both look unrecognizably insane to people who were right or left in the 90s. Whether we're talking about flat earth, Qanon dipshits, social justice warriors, incels, redpilled misogynists, groypers, the fact is that none of these would be a fourth as popular without the internet. Sadly another factor of mass shooters which will only get worse in the future unless trends change and kids stop growing up in this fake world.

Another factors that will likely only get worse :( The nuclear family has been eroded, with single motherhood on the rise. I personally support the extended family, believing the communal village life is the way. That said, the 21st century home model of custody battles and single parenthood is only increasing. It's funny how on tv shows, the homes usually have a nuclear family, when that is far from what typically happens. A single mother with little help from her family raising kids on her own and no man is on the rise
