Classmates say suspect had white supremacist views

Ikner is a registered Republican, according to public voter records. He registered in 2022, midway through President Joe Biden’s term in office, records show.

Reid Seybold, a senior at FSU who was around the corner from the shooting when it unfolded, said he knew Ikner from a political discussion group at Tallahassee State College, where he spent the first two years of his education before he transferred to FSU.

Seybold, the group’s president, said Ikner was asked not to return to the group because of views that Seybold said aligned with white supremacy.

“He espoused so much white supremacist rhetoric and far-right rhetoric, as well,” Seybold said.

Since then, Seybold said, he has seen Ikner only a couple of times in passing.

The current president of the same club, Riley Pusins, said that at meetings, the suspect advocated for President Donald Trump’s agenda and often promoted white supremacist values, even though the club was nonpartisan and was about debate and political discourse.

@ElwoodBlues Yes—he sounds like just the type to fear “DEI”—just like tRUMP and Hegseth and RFK, Jr.

Last night after the mass shooting tRUMP was asked by a reporter if he would consider any new legislation or initiatives to decrease gun violence and school shootings.

He flatly said no. He said that he ran on the 2nd amendment and that he stood by that.

Now we know that the shooter was a MAGA White Supremacist, registered Republican, who espoused MAGA hate and rhetoric just like tRUMP.

Does anyone want to guess who inspired him to perform this grisly crime? I’ll give you three guesses and the first two don’t count.

Oh when will they ever learn?

@KunsanVeteran Gun control laws would not have prevented the shooting because the killer stole the guns he used. The good news is that he was a mediocre killer. He was on the loose for about three hours and only killed two people.
@Diotrephes I would think his stepmother as a deputy would know how to secure her gun. I would also think this guy was displaying multiple red flags.

Like many areas, the number of guns in Florida is out of control. They have some of the laxest rules on guns in our nation.

Yes, he wasn’t particularly skilled, but two lives were unnecessarily lost, an untold number of people were terrorized, and the powers that be in our federal government and in the State of Florida won’t do a damn thing to reverse this epidemic of gun violence because the damn politicians care more about NRA & gun manufacturing $$$ than children’s lives.
