Yes, I have a permit. My father is Carabinieri and attached to the interior ministry. He arranged for me to have the license I need to carry a concealed weapon at all times. I even carry it on my exercise runs and when taking my daughter and her friends to school. Their parents are aware that I am armed.
Yes, I have had some training with my pistol arranged by my father, and I get the odd challenge to a shoot out when my brother (who is in the airforces) comes home (to Sicily). It is a Beretta small automatic (I have spoken about it before briefly). I’m very aware of the need for personal security, I was living alone with my daughter for a number of years.
