@Shutterbug that's exactly how I feel!!! We don't really hold guns in ireland in our homes... but I have a big hurly stick in my bedroom.

@Dusty101 there was a doco I watched on why. The u was dropped as Americans, after the revolution, wanted their own language. But they also have influences as well from Dutch and French settlers as well, like ketchup. Etc.
