“Washington Post” publishes story alleging Sudan of producing chemical weapons and using them against their countrymen
WAPO received a trove of information detailing allegations of chemical weapons being produced, concealed, and used against rebels in their civil war. The Post shared the information with military intelligence experts who accessed it as “credible” but cautioned that inspections would be necessary to confirm. Sudanese officials have never allowed inspections throughout the course of their civil war.
Chemical weapons have been declared illegal by international law.
