In the Second World War, 83% of the Germans died on the eastern front, not the western front, do you understand the significance of that ?

Socialist Germany fought socialist Russia and they killed each other like all good socialists do. The Germans, fighting a two front war, lost. Funny how as Germany collapsed all the Germans that could fled west to be captured by the western allies and not the Soviet troops.

@hippyjoe1955 Because they knew they would most likely die if taken prisoner by the russians! Only a small percentage of german POWs survived

@fanuc2013 Yes the USSR was absolutely brutal toward their captured enemies. The west had a different idea. Sadly over the years the sides have begun to shift with the west being more brutal towards its enemies than Russia. Not completely but the shift is on.
