My wife and I actually just recently quit WoW for a while and are back to playing Old Republic. The old-school social base behind WoW is dead and I don't enjoy the new game model, where you can just PUG or LFR all content now. You used to know who was the best in their class on each server and which guilds were the best on each server and had the most progression. That model really promoted teamwork and friendships online. Now being in a guild, hardcore or otherwise, hardly even matters. Plus Garrisons became a huge hassle, like a second job to keep up with them on mains and alts.

i am not sure about the new game play, i left at frozen thorn.., but thank you for your feed back, yes the beauty of wow is the team work, i have learned very useful lessons out of this game, i was always tank, so i can handle any kind of situation in life while holding all the aggero :P

I agree. I am on the point of stopping with Wow after 7 years. TV here is terrible so I only watch box set series or films and wow has been my main entertainment. You are right that the social base is practically gone. People are rude and abusive because in the lfr and pug system they probably will never see you again. So you get called all sorts of names for making one mistake in a raid, even if it's not a mistake that caused a wipe, still they think it's ok to verbally abuse you whilst they go ahead and mess up but they are never wrong! ugh! hate all that. Garrisons are anti social too. So, i'm looking for a game now that I can get immersed in and enjoy. Something that plays like Wow. Any suggestions?

Totally right the essence of being social is gone, I miss raising even in server pugs, getting on vent and laugh or curse lol is almost gone! All my friends are gone because they got bored and didn't like the new xpacks. So I play alone, I miss pvping in sunwell and getting drunk at night doing bgs with my guildies! /sigh

I agree: I totally miss the BC and Wrath days. I had tons of fun at the end of Classic and throughout BC.
