I Am a Mmorpg Junkie
I have to say that as a reviewer of services for MMORPGs who has been a MMORPG junkie for over two decades that I would rather shell out real money on paying fellow players to do things ike power level and send me in game money than to shell out on paying chinese gil farmers to do the same. Where as one just wants to monetize their LONG TERM hobby and does not expect to make it their life's work the other's whole existence revolves around the game.
the net result is that you can save a shitload buying from other players and avoiding the gil farmers. That's one of the reasons I like player auctions.
I just paid an OLDBIE something like 130 bucks for their currency and she saved me a huge amount on tht.
if you're thinking about doing the same avoid MMOGAH, use player auctions.
As a Buyer they're likely cheaper, I guess what's in it for the seller's is the team is basically biases in their favor in disputes.
So as a Buyer you have to beware of the sellers because the team is known to side with them in most disputes but I've found that the majority of the actual sellers do not take advantage of the system and as a result of having a safe place to unload they don't have to charge nearly as much.
One of the reason I hated paypal ws it was obvious to us all that the buyer protections were extremely easy to exploit if you felt like ripping the sellers off and I for one sometimes did Have things I sold as well as bought so being biases in either's favor is a no no for me.
but I can see now as a Buyer of in game currency and of services where it is as seller's matter vendors will send the cost saving onto their customers because they don't have to worry about if the buyer's are going to default and do some shit like canceling the payment at the bank or fileing a false report of Fraud in order to cause paypal to issue a refund even though you DID get the item.
Paypals basically left sellers in the position of having to "prove" they delivered the item and in the modern era doing such is nearly impossible for some items especially those without a tangible existence.
Save yourself some of your presumably hard earned money and use player auctons.
I know player auctions is taking some heat from some sellers for removing paypal but IMO they did that to protect you guys when it became evident that paypal is HEAVILY biased in the buyer's interest

as a buyer I wouldn't WANT to buy in a market biased in MY favor in the evident of a dispute because I know that sellers in that market will FEAR their customers and that fear will be dealt with long waits vetting etc and all that cost time and thus money and thus it means there's a fear based premium for all items bought in such a market.
