Another simple build: a chest with 5 hoppers leading into it, and then 4 more leading into those from the side. A few stairs on top of the main line, with water flowing over the side hoppers.
Add some lava above the furthest flowing water, which flows to the front. When water and lava meet, it turns into stone for and endless supply to be mined and collected automatically.
