Technical Minecraft: Droppers and Dispensers
Both these blocks have a 9 slot inventory and pick a random filled slot to eject one item out of when activated. The difference is that a Dropper always shoots out an item so it can be picked up, or pushed into a container in front. The Dispenser does not work without an open space in front of it and performs special actions with some items.
Arrows and Fireworks are shot, water and lava is placed, an empty bucket picks up fluid, Bonemeal is applied to crops to grow them, Splash Potions are broken, Shulker boxes are placed as a block, and armor is equipped to a player or monster standing in front. Other items are dropped to be picked up just like from Dropper but cannot be pushed into a container.
