The difference is you have more options for pc and more control. You can even burn games onto discs from pc games if you really wanted to as a backup. It isn't the same thing as buying games only from a digital storefront on a console and then they take it away from you in 3 or 4 years or whatever with no recourse. PC games you have multiple storefronts to pick from and you can even get games from somewhere else if they even were to be removed from a server. On PC, you can always get them from somewhere else. So comparing the PS6 and pc is an apples to cucumbers comparison due to the difference being mostly having control over what you spend your hard earned money on.

After the way us Turn based RPG enthusiast have been utterly neglected So Sony can chase Live service slop no one wants and only live service shooters? I've read the room. they're happy to have my kind of games on their platform but they won't center us and make us a priority so there won't be exclusives. so Fuck no. I just sold my PS5 if there won't be exclusive turn based RPGS no point in even owning one.

When you download a game on your PC, it is yours to keep. A digital game on consoles are basically just a rental that you pay full price for and Sony can remove it from their servers at any time.

@Rhiannon69 well, most of my games are on steam. With that service you have to be online when you play the game the first time but then you can play it with being offline.
I purchased some games where the company hosting the games closed down and I didn't have the installer, I had to purchase the game again through a different service.
Gog is the only place where you own the game after you buy it because you can get the offline installer. This is as close as you can get to a physical item
Digital is okay but you are only buying a license. If I don't have the physical item in my possession, I don't own it.
