I almost never stand when using the rift. xD I use the mouse/keyboard with it or a controller.
HTC vive is the one where you got to stand up and walk around a lot.

Basically there's two main VRs out there.
The Oculus Rift CV1
and the HTC Vive.
Main difference between the two really is one is for a standing and one is for a sitting position.
You can move around with the vive, but unless you have multiple sensors; it's really preferable to just stay still, and turn around and whatnot; handy with a chair that can move a bit.
