I Am a Girl Gamer

Maybe this is a stupid expression but I always felt like a “medium” gamer.

I feel uncomfortable calling myself a gamer girl because I always feel like those are hardcore gamers and I’m not a hardcore gamer.

I mean, I like to play videogames but I’m not always playing, sometimes I’m months without playing. So I don’t know loads of games, and I’m not that good of a player and I’m usually always late xD Usually by the time I get around to playing a game, all the hype has already passed xD

But I play more than angry birds on my phone so I still see mysef as a small gamer girl.

Does anyone know what I mean? Or not really? xD

@PlumBerries Sometimes I think it has not very nice connotations. Like the term "feminist" :( but i guess it's like most things, there are always people who are nice about it and people who aren't and twist the terms into something unpleasant

[c=#7700B2]most girls who say they are girl gamers mostly do it because they think it is some guys fantasies and they just post pics in their underwear while holding a console control.. Ask them bout games or anything and they cant answer lol[/c]

@PlumBerries Well that sucks. Sometimes I feel the need to describe myself as a gamer girl, not because I want to prove something but usually when I want to talk to other girls who play videogames too and I want them to know I'm a girl and not a guy hitting on them :/

[c=#7700B2]I said most not all :) ... I have at times described myself on here as a gamer girl but that is because of the limited subject choices. should do whatever pleases you and if you think of yourself as a gamer girl, don't let others ruin that for you[/c]

@PlumBerries Yeah you're right, thank you :)

@PlumBerries I guess it is my age, but I thought the term simply meant women who enjoyed playing video games. I understand how the term might be viewed by younger guys.
