If you post something objective on the internet, you're going to receive objective opinions about it too. That person's opinion on getting punished for leaving an unranked match early is highly objective, since lots of people enjoy playing unranked matches and someone leaving early obviously ruins the match. What about games like Elden Ring Nightreign in which case matches are never ranked? People play with strangers regardless, and it always sucks when someone leaves the party. If that many people disagreed with his opinion, his opinion was unpopular and he just needs to accept that.

@Nightwings Leaving an unranked match doesn't ruin it, because another player almost immediately takes their place and the whole point of playing unranked is that it is more casual, because losing doesn't come with any sort of cost like it does when you lose a competitive match. So there's no reason for people to be so bothered by someone leaving one of those matches.
Yeah, they can accept that their 'opinion' is unpopular but that doesn't mean they aren't right.
I have no idea why you're trying to compare this to playing Eldin Ring, though. It's a completely different game with a completely different online experience. It's true that there's no ranking system but there is a cost for losing, unlike in an Overwatch quick play/unranked match.
