You're an orphan whom just barely escaped the slaughter/kidnapping of your fellow orphans, before being confronted by the soul of the king who was forced out of his own body and having the truth revealed to you, going on a quest to save the kingdom from a queen gone mad and a demonic entity possessing the king's body, all while confronting your inner demons and conquering your own fears, facing your past (and yourself), all while slowly uncovering the truth of your world and the secret of it's creation

I think there should be a path where the protagonist orphan just gets to sit in a garden, eat ice cream, and have a gentle safe ride on a unicorn.
