I have just been so into Hogwarts Legacy after I got it for free from Epic Games. It's so cool!

@DMmeyourtits That's awesome! I tried it on my husband's account but couldn't really get into it. It did seem fun though, just not me. =D

@Nightwings Tbh it's only good if you like the Harry Potter movies. As a game it's not anything special at all, kind of a letdown really

@DMmeyourtits Oh what makes you say it's a letdown solely as a game? I was suuuper into the Harry Potter books, I grew up with them, but I never liked the movies too much. Idk, the movies were just so different from what I imagined in my head, even though they were beautiful and the music was amazing tbf.

@Nightwings Like any kid growing up with the books, I always wanted to step into Hogwarts and be a student there myself. The greatest thing about the game is that the whole castle and surrounding areas are completely free to roam around and explore. It's so full of jaw-dropping detail and is just a perfect depiction of the movie Hogwarts. And that's the only redeeming thing about it. The story is extremely linear, so you can't build your character to be the kind of student you wanna be. The only choice that matters is which house you pick, but other than the common room and its location, it only slightly changes one quest in the whole game. Dialogue options don't have any effect on the outcome of interactions with characters around the game. Not that you really can interact with other characters anyway, there are very few sidequests, and the ones that are there are very bland. Nobody cares if you leave the castle to explore the highlands for days on end. Walking out at night it the castle is fine as well for some reason, no one cares, in fact other students are also walking around the castle at night which really breaks the immersion. You don't attend classes at all basically, the game says you're a student but you are really not. Combat and spellcasting is fine though, that can be enjoyable.
