@helenS I remember that! It was very addictive. The machines used to be in cafes, and all over the place. One guy I knew would put his car on the cross-channel ferry, go to the machine under the stairs and play till it was time to drive off the other end 🚗 He got pretty good at it...

@helenS That's the one. It had Russian origins, and was all over the place circa 1988-90. I was in France at the time and you didn't have to look very hard to find a machine in a cafe somewhere.
