should my gamecube still work

i bought my gamecube in 2005 sometime, i've played on it occasionally through the years, but not excessively...i have a few resident evil games for it, including resident evil 4 which is my favourite.....however my gamecube has been sat there on the shelf for about a decade now and i haven't played it or turned it on...do you think my gamecube should still work ok, ive tried to be very careful with the machine since i bought it.

if for some reason it doesn't work when i turn it on, is there anywhere that repairs old consoles, like the gamecube?

Mine still works fine so I don't see why yours won't if you've just had it sat still on a shelf for years.

The biggest problem they have though is the laser 'might' need recalibrating once a blue moon which is easily fixable as it doesn't need any newer spare parts in the machine to fix it.

I honestly don't know where you would send it though as it's usually a DIY fix but definitely something a computer nеrd would be able to do inside 10 minutes and there's videos on You tube that show you how to do it.

Worst case scenario it didn't work, you couldn't find anyone to fix it and didn't fancy fixing it yourself you can pick a secondhand Wii console up for under £30 these days. They're backward compatible so you can use Gamecube mini discs, pads, memory cards on them.

Ok not exactly ideal but it might be worth checking out if everything else failed.

Like I say though if you've had it sat on a shelf doing nothing for years there's every chance it's just gonna boot up fine anyway and the biggest problem you'll have is whether you can find a telly that still has a SCART socket LOLZ😄
