What is the best long-running gaming series, and why is it Zelda? :)

Definitely not a biased question at all, now is it?!

I love Zelda because even though there are countless entries, almost every one seems novel and fresh!!

It's not, it's Mario. There have been some stinker Zeldas like the CD-i games and just kind of forgettable and subpar like the DS titles, Hyrule Warriors, and crossbow training
