I'm imagining up my own lore

For anyone not following along with me, I'm trying to make a videogame as my chosen medium to tell my mythos

Sorry. This is going to be wordy

It won't really have any main characters or really any story line as far as I can tell. The gameplay will rely on exploration of a city and other environments so the mythology behind it unfolds

The game begins with you waking up in a previously abandoned city, taken up inhabitants by various alien species. Like a hermit crab to it's shell.

(Progress of my city)

Them having lived there for generations, have a limited understanding of the previous occupants, and revere them sort of mythologically. Through dialogue and environmental story telling, you discover the mythological builders were human beings.

The humans nearly wiped themselves out through wars between themselves, leaving only a population of a few hundred or thousand. The remaining humans called a truce and focused on science for their betterment and preservation. Ultimately they became so intelligent and capable that they decided in favor of implanting their living consciousness into metal bodies. This so they could ensure their preservation as a species.

I have a theme in mind for this whole thing: that the human beings no longer having physical bodies or tangible feelings, lost their empathy and humanity.

Ironically, you're supposed to empathize with the non-human alien people you see living real lives

I haven't written this down anywhere else. I guess I've done it here just so I can have a record of it.

Sounds interesting, I like the concept.

Maybe look into Obsidian for note taking and storyline development or similar note app to make all records and not lose track.

@greensnacks thanks! yeah, I wrote this post as a note as well.

Do you mean Obsidian like the game studio or is there an app called obsidian?
@caPnAhab yes it's an app/ program. It's free
Maybe has a paid version but I've used some of it, is sort of cool and you can organize well.
