I'm imagining up my own lore

For anyone not following along with me, I'm trying to make a videogame as my chosen medium to tell my mythos

Sorry. This is going to be wordy

It won't really have any main characters or really any story line as far as I can tell. The gameplay will rely on exploration of a city and other environments so the mythology behind it unfolds

The game begins with you waking up in a previously abandoned city, taken up inhabitants by various alien species. Like a hermit crab to it's shell.

(Progress of my city)

Them having lived there for generations, have a limited understanding of the previous occupants, and revere them sort of mythologically. Through dialogue and environmental story telling, you discover the mythological builders were human beings.

The humans nearly wiped themselves out through wars between themselves, leaving only a population of a few hundred or thousand. The remaining humans called a truce and focused on science for their betterment and preservation. Ultimately they became so intelligent and capable that they decided in favor of implanting their living consciousness into metal bodies. This so they could ensure their preservation as a species.

I have a theme in mind for this whole thing: that the human beings no longer having physical bodies or tangible feelings, lost their empathy and humanity.

Ironically, you're supposed to empathize with the non-human alien people you see living real lives

I haven't written this down anywhere else. I guess I've done it here just so I can have a record of it.

Where do the images come from ?
I like your scenario, help us cope with aspects coming along with AI...

@being I made them by hand in a videogame engine called Unity. This will be a place you can walk and explore in

I'm glad you like it

@being but if you're referring to the textures on the buildings. A lot of those came from the internet, so I couldn't sell my game. It'll be free.

@caPnAhab They're very good!

I've worked with Unity and Blender, I also worked in Second's Life 3d builder/animation stuff back in the days.

If you are interested you can buy relatively cheap texture packages on Unity's marketplace. I believe with something like 10-20$ you should be able to get a bunch of walls and tiles HD pics.
I used to create those tiles, and sell them there...

@being thank you. And that's awesome that you've done that! I've heard of Second life.

I first took an interest in map design a little more than a year ago, using Valve's game engine, Hammer.

That's cool. I'll look for textures like those next time I'm in Unity's store. But more than tiles, I need to find like grass and flower textures. I'm also using Blender to make props and eventually NPCs but it's more difficult to grasp than Unity

@caPnAhab funny because for me it's been the other way around, I always found Unity more difficult to work with, unbending interface kind of. I guess that's what you like 😊
Yes, it's going to take you a while to replace a hundred of textures, I can understand that. Weight things, go on nevertheless!

@being blender is weird for me because it's like I need to go through multiple buttons or menus just to do one thing. It's tedious.

With time it'll hopefully be like second nature. And hopefully that with Unity for you

@caPnAhab I've removed myself from these... I'm working with other things nowadays
