What if i connected my nintendo switch to my hdtv would it make a difference?

I own both types of nintendo switch, if yours came with detachable left and right controllers and a mount with a HDTV connector, and you have a high definition TV, depending on the game, yes.

I don't even bother with it anymore, I just play zelda games and No Man's Sky on it. It's a shitty game platform otherwise.
