You know me and my take I'm not one of those people who engage in loyalty to corporations unless you know loyalty is rewarded with perks every so often like free food when you store up points I'm more than willing to switch sides as to which company I'm rooting for but my view is that Sony has made the exact same mistake Nintendo made with the N64 during the PlayStation era which is essentially we have Dream hardware with the PS5, but it's always been about which games are available and as a person who still plays multi-user dungeons every so often I really don't care about graphics especially when so much of the budget gets dumped into them gameplay suffers. We have Raytracing capable consoles at this point and yet nothing that yet rings me as a I'd buy this system just to play that yet on the PS5. And because I have something of a sense of remorse about my piracy habits I have a huge tendency to go out and tell my friends when I play something or watch something I think is great. Like I will do my bit to popularize the content I pirate when its good.
But yeah Sony is going down the same rabbit hole that let the Playstation dethrone the N64 and mistaking gamers for bieng so graphic obsessed that the details of which software is available don't matter and meanwhile Nintendo is plugging away at basically what I'm starting to view as the Greatest Console of all time-The switch. Specifically because of the library available for it.
