I Love Playing Video Games

So I bought a switch on Friday and I’ve been playing links awakening and Breath of the wild and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been having so much fun, I haven’t played any Zelda games since Windwaker back on the GameCube (which I love dearly) and it’s been a refreshing ride and a different experience than games I’ve been playing lately.

I find I'm going back to older games recently. Modern ones are nice, but something about the classics and more "obscure" games just feels solid.

@raysam363 Gaming went down the shitter for awhile, but I think it's slowly coming back somewhat. I was really happy with the Resident Evil 2 remake, as someone who had played the original and was very familiar with it. I don't think anything will be as bad as gaming in 2012-2015 when we had all the awful cod clones. I believe the main thing modern gaming suffers from is lack of good gameplay mechanics and originality. We haven't really tried anything new, or to create a game that simply combines the best of everything. We market games towards casual players who realistically do not understand how games work. Take for example the Wipeout franchise. Wipeout 2048 by default turns on auto pilot, when the previous entries of the series worked just fine without it. That's a small issue because you can at least turn it off, but you get what I mean. Games used to be about actually playing them and having an existent art direction as opposed to fancy graphics. As I said though, I think gaming is changing somewhat.
