Right. In the 90's my parents and I had a nasty crash were dads car a Volkswagen beetle got hit by a car on a hill. He lost control and the car went hurtling down into the wall and I had hit my head. Those cars were pretty hardcore although his engine was busted....

No air bags in a Beetle, with zero structural support between the front bumper and the windshield either.

@swirlie but they were good cars. An accident like that today could be fatal as it would get completely smashed but yes times change. My heads fine tho 😁👀

Good cars! Yes, reliable like any Volkswagen is known to be AND they don't get stuck in snow!

But Beetles in particular have never been a safe car, not even the recent ones made a few years ago.

@swirlie The Beetle reminds me of my dad who passed away 24+ years ago. Survived 30 years or so mom says.
