What do sellers expect???

So I'm in the market looking at trucks. Specifically, a Mazda B Series. The older the better! I found two that were built in the 1980's. Both sellers want to get rid of it because it's currently serving as a lawn ornament. Now, I know I can get it running again. Not an issue and I can have it towed! So, I messaged them both in a cordial way because I'm southern polite.

1st seller: "In talks. I'll let you know." 馃え What?

Haven't heard from her in several days basically blowing me off and isn't as serious to get rid of it.

2nd seller: *crickets* 馃檮
Hasn't even messaged me back. Mind you I messaged both on the same day, so this has gone unnoticed for about a week.

I'm not going to give an offer in my first message to them until I get to know more about the vehicle, pictures so I can assess damages to look for parts I know I'll need, yada yada. Idk if they were expecting me to throw my wallet at em or what? Fortunately, I have a laundry list of other vehicles I have in mind and hopefully those sellers would be more engaged in a simple dialogue.

The hunt continues...

Why an obsolete model?

@Neman1622 Preference mostly. I'm an oldie and love throwbacks. It's also not too obsolete that I wouldn't be able to find any necessary parts. Eventually, I'm going to end up putting a completely different motor, trans, shaft, axles on that bad boy so if anything needed fixing internally it's easier to come by. I guess I'm just buying the shell and the frame at this point lol

@RedGrizzly interesting. That's a lot of work and expense. Why not buy something newet and just upgrade that?
