has anyone ever lived near a railway line

my apartment is situated next to a railway line, so i often hear frieght trains pass through the night...and other trains throughout the day....i've got used to it now after living hear 20 years.

My home is less than 1/2 mile from a very busy track. I too am so used to it now that I rarely hear them.
