Went on an Amtrack a while back. Chicago to San Fransciso. Amazing scenery. Great food. Terrible sleeping. My advice. If ur trip is longer than a day....plan to get off in the evenings, grab a motel, catch the train the next day and go on to your destination. Takes longer. ..but far more enjoyable.
