Tesla sales tank

Musk has managed to destroy the "Pride of ownership" which is what drives sales of luxury brands. Suddenly driving a Tesla does not make the statement they intended on when they bought it. People buy things because they feel good about the purchase.

I'm not sure if that's ever coming back for Tesla.

People get duped into buying certain car brands because of "pride of ownership" but it usually has the opposite effect. People get jealous or envious and end up not liking the person because of that.

Brands like Tesla, BMW, Mercedes...

Heck and the cost of ownership of these fancy cars is ridiculous. With BMW, everyone I have known who owned one did nothing but complain.

If someone wants a car specifically, why not go for dependability like say a Honda or Toyota? There is nothing "prestigious" about some ol civic or corolla but they hold up.

I am just saying that buying a car based on one's ego seems a bad investment.
