why is Tesla making electric racing cars like the Plaid when

if you buy an electric car you get it to eliminate gas and save energy. this thing probably goes through it's battery reserves like a hog before you have to recharge with power from some dirty stinking power plant. If you wanted to race you'd get a car with an engine that belches fumes, not some motor with wheels on it like an oversized matchbox
