Why do the uber drivers always take the route with multiple traffic signals?

Does it save fuel or something? 🫠
They say "ma'am it's the faster route" .....and not once in my entire life has this route been faster than another with zero traffic signals. Howwwwwww is it the fastest route?

Lights would make it slower, but if it's busy enough that it needs lights then it might be the fastest path.

@Viper but it isn't! The other path's road design makes it require no lights and traffic is always running smoothly there, at 60 to 70km/hr average.
